We, at LISC Houston, would like to engage you in a multidisciplinary and systems-level stakeholder conversation about the state-of-communities of Greater Third Ward, South Acres, Sunnyside, and OST/South Union on November 16 from 9:00a.m. – 11:30a.m. (light breakfast provided) at the Houston Texan YMCA on 5202 Griggs Rd, Houston, TX.
While we’ve made significant strides in our impact in these neighborhoods over the years, we understand the persistence of neighborhood poverty can be attributed to four major barriers and the inability of our siloed and misaligned systems and structures to address them. For more information, see page 9 of the Community Centered Economic Inclusion Playbook.
This calls on us to reassess our work, our role in the development of ecosystems and enhancing capacity, our convening/advisory capability, and ability to leverage and deploy investments.
Please note that due to limited capacity, the invitation is open to the first 50 people who register to attend. We look forward to seeing you and getting your much needed insights to better impact our communities!
