The Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit Program is an exciting opportunity for communities to receive a clean energy tax incentive, easing the financial strain of small-scale clean energy developments and bringing the monetary and health benefits of clean energy to communities. In this workshop, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Justice and Equity will provide information about supporting solar energy development with an overview of the Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit Program (48(e)), discuss the local contexts around solar energy development that are helpful to understand towards advancing local solar energy projects, and hold a guided space where solar developers, community-based organizations, and others can have a discussion around solar energy projects in Port Arthur.
